Maverick Advocaten guides Japanese company on notification BTI for investment test Investments Screening Bill

Martijn van de Hel, Adriaan Craita and Saskia Stolk successfully guided Japanese company in obtaining approval of the Bureau Toetsing Investeringen (Investment Screening Bureau – “BTI”) for the acquisition of an undertaking that designs integrated circuits.

The Japanese company trades electronic equipment, including integrated circuits, semiconductors, computers and telecommunication systems. The target company designs integrated circuits for multiple industries such as automotive, industrial and space.

On 20 February 2024 the investment was notified to the BTI in the context of the notification requirement and investment test based on the Investments Screening Bill (Wet Vifo – “ISB”). On 10 April 2024 the BTI communicated that no screening decision was necessary.
